I cant find the thread of who and when the Denver crew is going to nationals.

Were coming to Denver on thursday, meet for din din? Hook up for the drive up? Thurs/fri?

whats your plans? were playing it by ear and have no hotel till sat in Rapid.

I'm leaving Texas on Friday morning stopping in Colorado Springs Friday night then leaving for SD Sat Morning

WHat time are you rolling out Saturday morning? Looks like we've got 3-4 more hours of driving tome to Cheyenne than you do... would be cool if you left a bit later  in the morning and we hooked up for the home stretch!  Let me know what you are up to and we'll work it out... gotta hook up with my birthday bro on our birthday!  :cool:

I hope not to early after the drive to there from Abilene i will be beat. Saturday is just arrival day no reason to get in a big hurry. What time should i leave to hook up with you guys.

Well the wife and I are the only locals (to CO that is) that are attending.  We were planning on heading out Saturday morning... if we can meet up that'd be cool!

We are making a hour lunch stop in Casper Wyoming @ 1:24PM We could hook up there for the final leg  (y)

According to my software if you leave Colorado Springs at about 8:30 to 9 with NO stops you would arrive in Casper to meet us at 1:30PM

We plan to be in Casper from 1:24 to 2:24 PM for our lunch stop

The drive from Colorado Springs to Casper is 324 miles so if you plan any stops between those points you will need to add that to the driving time and leave Colorado Springs that much earlier.

I haven't run a map yet?

we wont have an AV yet but we should have Amber's...he he

With my limited map skills it looks like CO springs is 70ish miles 1 1/2 hours from denver

so if you leave a 8ish

Denver 9:30 ish on /neer the I-25

8-9 hours were in Rapid!!!!!

picking up casper folk on the way, Are you guys taking the 18? from the 20? near ORIN WY?

There were 3 factors I took into account...

Quality of roads
Enroute speed differential and time saved (if any) by staying on Interstate
Other folks on vacation and their use of conflicting roads

So...I did not want to select too many Wyoming Highways, especially those that are "connectors" to areas we will be visiting while in Rapid City. ?I figure that this time of year there will be a ton of folks on vacation and visiting those areas that are in proximity to Rapid City...

I am waiting on information from a member on the use of Wyoming Highways 387 and 59 which "cut a corner" off of I-25 to Buffalo and I-90

The time appears to be about a 4 minute difference yet a savings of 53 miles (almost a draw)...

So anyway I figure that the "South Entry" Highways are going to be routes to avoid on a Saturday...don't want to get "locked" in with a bunch of tour buses/rubber neckers... even though we will become the very same a few days later...

Anyway...if you wanted to hook up with the Cali gang of 4 which will become 5 in Salt Lake City and become 6 in Casper...

We will be taking I-25 from Casper to Hwy 387 to Hwy 59 to I-90 (just East of Gillette)...This becomes a "Straight In Shot to Rapid City via Interstate...and we arrive about 7PM...

Don't know for sure but appears to be only slightly more miles on better/faster roads...
