Everything about Spectre Cold Air Intake

Refletix or Insultek are the brand names around here. It is a radiant heat barrier. Homedepot carries it. I have been using it under hood , under headliner and under carpet for years.

Attached with the large diameter insulation fasteners from  Au-ve-co :)

Thanks! Looks like it might be cheaper to use then the gutter repair rolls. Same cost per roll but only 18 feet on the gutter stuff.

Yesterday I put on the Spectre CAI 9900 and love it! It was easy to put on and sure makes the 5.3 sound off! I filled the tank afterwards so Ill see what kind of MPGs Im getting now. The get-up-and-go seems to be a little more responsive too. It's amazing what a little extra air can do!

Does anybody have their stock airbox setup they want to get rid of? I'm looking for one for my 04 5.3. Thanks.

I still got mine I'll send you a email

Great thread guys! Lots of info. Had a Spectre on my '97 Sierra and thought it was great. Glad that the reviews are great on the Avys as well. I'll look to get one just after Christmas

Yep still got mine but I'm never switching back. Maybe if I ever trade it in, but I want to hit the 20 year mark first.

Put it on the other. Loving the sound and the looks of it.When it comes time to clean the filter I'll likely change that out to a dry filter but other than that this is a good product

not to bring back an old thread, but has anyone tried this CAI with a body lift?

I found a good deal on the 99002...but it seems the elbow off the throttle body is waaaay to close to the fan, maybe even touching...and it seems even if that fit it will not clear the rad hose. what I ended up doing was only using the spectre box and filter, with stock hosing. I would like to get some thoughts if anyone else ran into this. second pic is with stock hose

So I changed my setup 6 months ago when I took this K&N off my Camaro and placed it on the Avalanche. I had the Spretre tube initially, but tried this instead and liked it much better. Maybe its because of my long tube headers and custom tune. The intake box is still Spectre with no floor plate so you can see straight down to the ground. Also I feed air from the top from the hood scoop project few years back.

I had mine like that for a few days before I put the specter tube on. but tbh, I don't notice any difference with this intake on or off..

What I noticed was off the line only. There was a slight hesitation with the Spectre setup. Did not matter which CAI filter I used, it was the tube that made the difference.
