Here's the 07 Avy

I see they got smart and are not using that silly panel storage bad that no one really uses anyway.

Locking tailgate

No retracting rear window, or split midgate  (n)

"Active Fuel Management" system... it seems to work for the Hemi, so hopfully this one will work.

Tahoe Grille  (n)

Bowtie on tailgate  (n)

how about retracting rear window and split midgate.  now that would be impressive.

I did ponder that as I way typing it. Would definitely have to have a lock out feature to keep you from having a split midgate window...  :E:

I must say, I like the looks of it.  I favor the cladded AV because that is what I have now.  But I really love the painted panels like the Cadillac EXT has.  This AV is going to be a good blend between cladded and non-cladded it looks like.

Is it the same Midgate as before?  It looks nice I think I will hold off till the Z71 comes in....

Looking good!

I like the added features.
I like the redesign on the interior.
Did they remove the drivers side bed light?
I miss CHEVROLET across the tailgate.
Look at the high res picture.. they changed the Avalanche lettering..
The one in the picture is a LTZ model?

Av'n It,
Todd

No power midgate window. ?:E:

That's been discussed here. ?No way to implement it and retain the Av's function. ?If the window was power, it would be an integral part of the midgate. ?Thus, you couldn't drop the midgate and keep the window in place.

midgate + power window =? :deadhorse:

Obviously it won't work.

and I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that I don't hate it quite as much as I did in the other thread.  Maybe with time I could learn to like it.

Would nmake it easier to haul couches huh...?

hehehe

I bet you $100 that they haven't fixed the intermediate steering shaft, though.  Nor the cladding fade.

read print...says something about better steering which indicates they redesigned something....hmmmmmmmm

went from the crappy-azz recirc ball to rack and pinion, but that doesn't mean they changed the int steering shaft.

I'm just saying it'd be like GM to keep the flawed one

I like the interior, but we knew that was going to be nice. I'm willing to bet large sums of money, though,  that the midgate does NOT fold that flat.

The exterior still does nothing for me. Maybe Valanca or Southern Comfort can do something with it.

6.0 litre Vortec with 355 hp in Q4. Yippeeeee!!!? ? ?
Upped the towing cap. to 8000 lbs. Nice!? ?

I think this should read? " They have reduced the towing capacity from 12000# to 8000# by eliminating the 2500 model"? ?(n)

here is pic of midgate folded down:

Looks pretty flat too me....

Yeah, it looked that flat in my 2002 sales brochure, too.

Hence my willingness to bet.

Looks like the seatbelts are in the pillar and not in the seat back....does that mean the seat will lean back now?

Also handles and hooks in the middle of the back.....ability to hang clothes?

Mid-deck included?

They are in the pillar.  GM's announcement states this allows the seat to be slimmer creating more room in the interior.  That MAY be partly involved in allowing the midgate to lie flatter, dunno.
