New Members Say Hello & Post Here First

Hi, just joined the club with a black 2007 Avalanche LTZ with 76k miles. Hoping that I can keep this running until 200k or more! I've been looking to upgrade from my car to an SUV or truck but I wanted something that was unique and functional. I feel the Avalanche checks all the boxes and more. The LTZ package holds up really nice and the truck seems like a baby because of the condition and miles. 4x4 has been a great upgrade this winter!

First steps would to get some aftermarket speakers, AFM disabler, and new tires in a few. I'm glad I found this community forum because I've already learned so much about the Avalanche since lurking around on here. Thanks!

Hello friends,
I have a clad 2005 z71, purchased about a year ago with~115k miles on it, i have put about 20k on it so far.
A few things i would like to do with this are modern android stereo with nav(has sirius, bose, onstar, cd/dvd, and video console now) backup camera would be nice too. I would also like to fit bigger tires(I put 275/70-17s on when i got it, this fit well) and improve clearance(truck 4 wheels ok but clearance could be better) so suspension and or bodylift, maybe offset wheels? I do have. Bent rear bumper i want to replace and probably replace the plastic over that otherwise plastic is in good shape, whatever my local carwash does seems to work well(i got comments on how good this truck looks, plastic and it does have cool blue/green factory paint that look different depending in the light). Oh, just remembered plastic over one of the running boards is cracked but that would be lower on my priority list.
Anyway, thanks for accpeting me into the group! I will be digging for knowledge regarding the things i want to do and will share progress and tips when i make useful discoveries.

My name is javier, and I am a five years owner of my Avalanche.I'm currently working out some mechanical and electrical issues on my Avalanche. I hope to find and post many answers to some of those issues. regards

Well I do have an issue with the heated seat elements on the drivers side only not working but the control buttons light up and stay on. The passenger side works fine. I heard they have relays for each side. On my Yukon if one Element shorts out on the front it shuts both seats down.

So...

I've been back and forth on getting either a truck or an SUV for a long time. I've been in the Subaru world since about 2006, and as much as I have learned and loved it, being 6'3" and 300lbs, they're just not made for me. Instead, they're made for skinny DINKs to take their dogs camping more than my wife, our 4 year old, and I to take the whole freaking base camp (stove, tables, dutch ovens, all the KP kit, shower, fire barrel, etc.) when we go out with friends and family. And if you're doing any home improvement work or an IKEA run, the cargo space is dreary at best. Sometimes you just need a truck for truck stuff.

But....trucks don't have the most comfortable ride, and I don't need a truck every day, and my lazy old (I'm 36, lol) man status makes me want something with more creature comforts and offroad capability. So an SUV would better fit the bill, right?

Well, the good news is, a long-time buddy of mine upgraded his trailer last summer from a 24'er to a 33'er, and while his beloved Avalanche COULD tow it, it really did NOT like to. So they upgraded trucks as well to an F-350. And the Avalanche? Well, that has kinda been sitting, but was supposed to sell once he figured out where the little oil leak it had came from. After giving it more thought, the Av allows me to have an SUV, but also a truck when I really need it for truck stuff. Oil leak be damned, I wanted it. Two weeks ago, we decided to do it. And after some finagling with the bank and getting everything settled, he agreed to sell me a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 5.3l V8 with 155k miles in quite good condition for $7000.

And now I'm in that Avalanche life, haha. Within 24 hours of delivery of the truck, I already installed a Pioneer AVH-2550NEX DVD/Media receiver, connected up to a Maestro RR to retain the RSE, SW controls, and OnStar. Needless to say, I am super excited about it. I took it out to visit my brother last weekend in Cheyenne, and through snow storms and -17F weather, it was absolutely SOLID. I'm loving it.

I've been lurking on here for the last two weeks, but now that I have some questions and wanted to show it off, I figured I would finally join!
Welcome to the club.
