This may have already been stated, but, just in case...The parking brake issue is a known concern, and there is a TSB, (Technical Service Bulletin), addressing it. The Pins that hold the parking brake shoes are weak. This allows the shoes to "drag" within their races which in turn wears the friction material. The only "fix" is to replace the pins and the shoes, adjust and you're set. No questions under warranty. Might still get it done if just out of warranty. This problem and fix applies to Silverado as well.
