well, there is not much to say but...

that yesturday I was driving my girlfriend home from school and lost control of my avalanche in some transmittion fluid left on a highway(101)... the rear end came around so fast i had no control what so ever. it had just rained for the first time in a while so the roads were slick. anyways, the truck then hit and crawled onto the center divider, then bounced away from it. ?i have to say the next 5 seconds of my life where by far the scariest of my life, as i went for a ride i can never forget.

the truck jetted across the lane and up the freeways off ramp... then over a curb that turned the truck sideways and into a roll, the truck rolled i believe once before it flew off the elevated part of the off ramp and rolled over onto the on ramp where my truck came over onto it's nose and coming to a rest on it's passenger side in the middle of the off ramp and on ramp center divider.

i'm glad to say, well that i'm alive and well, not only well but i come out of this wreck with only a blow to the head leaving me out for a est. 6 minutes and a bruised left arm, rib cage, and both knees. not one broken bone!

as for my girlfriend, she walked away with a small cut above her right ear and a small bump on her head.

i am going to attach a few photos from the scene that my friend mike took for me in the next few post.

once again i am ok. ?thanks to chevy and my avalanche.

Man what a sad sight :-[ Sorry to see that BIGRED. Hope you get your truck back from the AV hospital soon.
Glad to hear you and your gf are doing all right.

:B:
I'm glad that you and your girlfriend were OK after that..... I also know that this isn't much of a comfort but at least the Av did it's part.........things would have been very different if you were in a ricer.

Jake

Glad to hear you guys made it out with minor injuries.....looks like even though it rolled it kept you safe (y)

You'll be back rollin' in no time, this is coming from someone who's had her share of accidents ;)

Ohh the pain my eyes are buring but it does look like the AV held up realy well in an acident like that but again I am glad no one was hurt

Eddie - Glad to hear you and the girlfriend are ok. Don't worry about the truck that's what insurance is for.

i do have to say that it was one heck of a jump of the side of my avalanche when it was on it's side.

Glad you're ok! I have to say that your post is somewhat reasuring. If my AV is ever involved in anything like yours was, I hope it will come through it as well as yours did.

Looks like your AV might be in the shop for awhile but it looks like its salvagable. It's going to be the center of attention at the national meet!

David

Is that a full size spare? JK.. Glad to hear you are OK!

Big R I'm really glad to hear that you and your girl are OK and that the AV pulled through, now lets be honest how slow where you going on that wet road.

I see you have the OnStar Antenna. Do you have service for it? Did it auto-dial? Were they of any use at all?

David

I get home late for work, needing my CAFCNA fix and I see this thread. Yikes!! :(

Eddie, just really glad that you and your girl are ok!! The Av can be fixed a whole lot easier than you 2 if you'd been hurt badly.

That had to be a pretty good whack on the head to be out that long, make sure you get your self checked out!

Take care Bud

SJP

It looks like your airbag didn't deploy. Was that the case?

yes on star auto dialed for me and there was a emegency truck there in an est. 4 minutes, hands off to all the police and fire fighters who were there to help me.

as for air bags... none... they did not go off... interesting to me.. but i'm glad that they didn't.

Hey B.R.... Glad you and your girlfriend are OK. It looks like they will be able to put your AV back together. (y) It looks like you had the ride that all of us hope we never have. Looks like you will be able to post repair pics now. Take care

it is an est. of 2 months and a few weeks till she comes back home. i already have sheet metal ideas to replace the cladding.. so i'll keep you guys updated on that to.

Glad to hear you're okay. I was driving along 101 last Friday after the little drizzle (coming home from Half Moon Bay). There must have been 4-5 accidents within just a few miles of each other. I guess the roads out there get pretty slick after the first rain because of all the traffic.

I'll just say the same thing as everyone else but I feel it's necessary to say that I am so glad that you and your GF are okay and in good health and that your Avalanche came through when it needed to. It's good that your AV will live to see another day too.

Thank you for sharing.
