Stickers On Truck Cheesy???

Well, the Z69 package comes with red suede instead of the standard cloth or leather, heart shaped seat backs, window blinds, a mirrored ceiling and rope lighting. :)

Is it available with both a sunroof and a trapeze? Maybe it's an either/or on those options...

The "Z" got started with Zora Arkus-Duntov. The father of the Corvette.

Duntov.. Duntov? Hey, wasn't he the weapons officer on the original Star Trek?

"Fire, Mr. Duntov!"
"Got 'eem, Keptain!!"

(I'm trying to run up my posts to become a deity also!)

I believe the trapeze is included also, as is the seat-back mounted video screens, DVD player and wireless video camera.

If you are thinking of Chekov, he was actually the navigator on the original series. Sulu was the weapons / helms officer.

But actually, I think the Chief is the expert in this area.

... Standard 2wd AV and non-Z71 4x4 are also available. You can buy the acessories to make a standard 4x4 a Z-71 which I think are: two underbody sheilds, Z-71 fender graphic, special floor mats, and I think special shocks.

Not sure about all the stuff for Z-66 ...
Here's the package summaries:

Z66 Premium On-Road Package includes:

?17-inch aluminum wheels with P265/70R17 tires
?Premium On-Road Suspension with self-leveling rear
shock absorbers
?Traction assist
?Locking rear differential
?Z66 decals
?Aggressive rubber floor mats

Z71 Off-Road Package includes:

?17-inch aluminum wheels with P265/70R17 tires
?Z71 Premium Off-Road Suspension
?Skid shields
?Locking rear differential
?High-capacity air cleaner
?Z71 decals
?Aggressive rubber floor mats

yeah, having "built back" to a Z-71 myself (I wanted a blue Av, no Z71 readily available but a 4x4 was) I can tell you that it is much cheaper to just get the freaking option when purchasing - got the wheels off of ebay (take offs), bought the skid shields, did not change the suspension (shocks, springs are different on the Z-71) and I sorely miss the locking rear diff. Came close to buying the rear bilsteins though.

Now let me just put to bed the "high capacity air cleaner" fallacy that still apears in the specs - we all have the same one, I confirmed this with the General himself. Of course I went UPD/K&N anyway ;D , but I had to point that out.

Just yesterday I was wondering how well the Z-71 decals are going to hold up over time. Anybody have long term experience with them on another vehicle?

Also, the Z-71 decal color of silver/white/black on my black Av just seem so lame. I wish they could have jazzed it up with some other color such as red, blue, gold or something other than what it has. I wonder how the red/white/blue would look on a black Av?

Guess I'm in a minority here, just recently removed the Z66 stickers on my blue Av. Think it looks much cleaner that way and I don't really care if anyone else knows that it's a Z66 or Z71. That said, wish I could get a Z66 badge similar to the one I had on my Z71 Tahoe. Much more subdued and better looking in my opinion.

If you're taking a vote, add me to the side that likes the stickers - even though a Z-71 is not particularly unique in the world of Av's. It would be interesting to know the breakdown between Z-66, Z-71, and those Av's sporting neither.

I didn't care for the stickers that much, so i removed them and put the Z71 emblems(like the ones on the Tahoe) on the C-pillar and the tailgate.

the stickers are fine in my opinion, but I would have rather have had the badges on the c-pillars, like on other Chevy/GM vehicles.

Silversport,

I didn't like them (Z71) so I had the dealer remove them before I took delivery. Just personal preference.

As far why does it take all day to do a 10 minute job? Same as my business. I've got 60 other 10 minute jobs in front of you. The line forms here.........

Only so many employees and only so much time in the day. Sorry.

Trophyman.

Did you order the Tahoe Z71 badging from the dealer and what did they cost

AV minds want to know

I totally understand if I was just askin' to have it done...I apologize for not referencing an earlier post but...the DEALER damaged my AV when prepping it and kept it 3 days instead of the half day they were supposed to...then they tell me to bring it back so they can put a new decal on and it will be "10 minutes."
When I go in for the "10 minute application" (I already knew they would want it all day) I was going to have to leave it all day. I took the decal to apply myself.
I flubbed the application (my fault/pride) and have since decided to remove the other (and have). I may install the z71 appliques from the Tahoe/Suburban.
Thanks for all your input!
;D (y) :B: :0:

Correct me if I'm wrong (not about my opinion of stickers, but my observation) but how many nice, $30,000+ vehicles have cheezy, cheap, lame stickers on them? BMW? Lexus? Range Rover? Mercedes? Hummer? Corvette? I'll start paying more attention, but I think the answer is only full-size American trucks proudly displaying their off-road (or on-road, go figure) prowess, or whatever the case may be. Can you imagine if BMW put something like "luxury curve hugger" on the side of a 740?

No offense intended to sticker lovers :)

What's way worse, however, is dealership stickers :7: :7: :7: Especially if you get stuck paying an advertising fee at purchase. Must I continue to advertise?

I don't mind the Z71 stickers... not really worth my time/hassle to remove them since I don't mind, but Rich has a good point about dealership stickers! Same with the dealer licsense plate frames.

There's a Nissan dealership here called Thoroughbred Nisssan and they have a sticker of a running horse on all their cars and trucks... usually on the door!! It's SOOO tacky! :D:

Rich:
Take a look at TRD (Toyota Racing Developement) on the sides of Tacomas and Tundras...How 'bout 4X4 on the sides of 4Runners, Nissan??? Supercharged 4X4 on their trux, etc...(Mitsubishi, et. al...)
I don't see 'em too much on the cars but DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE RICERS!!! ;D :D ;) (y) >:D :B:

Now your dealing with personnel taste when it comes to stickers....I've seen some tasteful vehicles when done right.....on the flip side of that coin I've seen some horror shows also....

The dealer stickers were the first to come off, I was never to eager to display someone elses business... :B:

I agree!!! I don't recall the dealer tellimg me he was going to pay me for advertising their business!!!

Hey ecparks, those emblems look tons better than the current Z-71 decals I am sporting. Sounds like I may have to chat with my accessories guy and get some Z71 emblems.

Jamie

I wish the 2500 had a decal (i.e. 2500 or 8.1 L) to set that model apart. And if we look on the other side of the street, I like the badging of the F O R D Harley Davidson and King Ranch models.
